Mike Holmes was born in England and raised in Canada after his father returned home to Victoria with his family.
Mike spent his youth in Metchosin on a farm and later went to Brentwood College with his twin brother Peter.
Primarily interested in pursuing his rugby career Mike obtained his law degree at UVIC and then joined Jones
Emery a law firm in Victoria. Under the tutelage of George Jones Q.C. , Mike learned that the practice of law,
at least in Victoria, is somewhat unrelated to what is learned at law school and managed to build a solid real
estate and business practice and gain many friends and clients along the way.
Along the way he married, divorced, remarried and divorced and was blessed with 4 young children who
fortunately inherited the looks of their mother. His cousin Phil hired Mike as the manager of Pemberton
Holmes in 2003 and shortly thereafter Mike and his brothers purchased the business. It has grown substantially
along with the real estate market and Mike usually enjoys the challenges of ensuring the continuing success
and growth of his family business.
Mike enjoys hiking, trying to avoid getting old, time with his children and travelling.
