"My real estate career began in the fall of 1977 in Winnipeg, MB. Born and raised there, I saw this industry as a great opportunity to learn about the business of real estate. From residential construction and appraisal to sales and marketing, it offered so much diversity and challenge for the right individual. Early on in my career, I realized that a background in psychology, real estate law, accounting, and the art of communication would be of great benefit to my profession. My portfolio includes both innovative marketing strategies along with strong negotiating skills as they are an integral part of the real estate business. In addition, my interest and love of photography has allowed me to incorporate this creative skill into my business as a value-added service, by offering a unique presentation of each home that is listed for sale.
In the spring of 1991, after 14 years in the real estate industry, I left Winnipeg to continue my career on beautiful Vancouver Island. I will always have fond memories of my years in Winnipeg. It is still one of the best cities in Canada. Today, my family and I reside in Victoria, BC. This city currently has a population of approximately 390,000 including 13 municipalities. It is a diverse area made up of both rural and urban communities. There are oceanfront and lakefront properties, farms, and acreages as well as a variety of single-family and strata housing neighbourhoods which include duplexes, condos and townhouses.
Having two children also provided me an opportunity to meet many other families in the community through schools and local sports as well as through volunteer work wherever possible. Most of my business revolves around the needs of families and the changes that happen over time. And from over forty five years of helping people move, I have seen the circle of life truly evolve in the lives of many families across this country.
Looking back, I've had the privilege of working with some great real estate professionals at a time when the valued principles of business still widely existed. A handshake meant something to one another. The simple courtesy of a please and thank you mattered back then and there was more respect shown towards each other. So, although the manner of how business is conducted has changed, there are still those individuals who practice theirs with a high degree of integrity, honesty, and professionalism. I am proud to say that I am one of them. It has, and always will be, an honour to have played an important part in people's lives with respect to their real estate needs.
Although most of my business today is by referral, I always welcome the opportunity to meet with new clients. With that in mind, I look forward to meeting you and in turn, offer the same degree of service to you and your family in the future."
